One of our local customers, Bean + Bark, recently purchased a Fuso Canter 515 from Terry 0487 494 111 for their 'dog meets coffee' mobile business.
Nudgee Beach company Bean and Bark use a Fuso Canter to move their coffee caravan. Their story helps highlights the versatility and flexibility of the iconic Fuso Canter and how it can be adapted to meet the varied needs of small business.
The Brisbane business Bean And Bark provides customers with a coffee station and unique dog day care service including a dog wash where tasty treats for both dogs and their owners are available. Launched 18 months ago, the business is the brainchild of Danule Taylor and his partner Brianna Young.
The former chefs customised a 1970s caravan-based food van into striking custom coffee van complete with tiles, chequer-plate and wood surfaces. A Mitsubishi Triton ute hauled the caravan while an IBC water cube has been fitted to the tray for dog washing.
According to Taylor he initially considered a larger American ute, before purchasing a Fuso Canter 515 from Terry at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast. The chose a 515 City Cab Canter with a Duonic dual-clutch Automated Manual Transmission and 5 year warranty as standard.
The truck has independent front suspension, which gives the Canter a more car-like ride.
“It doesn’t even notice it is carrying anything,” Taylor said.
“It is really easy to drive," he said.
With a class-leading payload, the Canter comes with an aluminium tray as standard, with plenty of room for the water tank and all the dog wash gear. At just $187 per week this truck is an affordable option too.
The Canter is the safest light truck on the road too, being the only light duty truck in Australia to be fitted with an automatic emergency braking system called Advanced Brake Assist and it is now standard on all new models except for the off-road Canter 4x4.
Also standard on the 4x2 Canter is Lane Departure Warning and Electronic Stability Control.
