The guys took our beloved Fuso Toy Hauler 2.0 on a roadie to the outback to support Bryan's attempt at 'being the first Harley to complete' Tatt's Finke desert race. Bryan did a stellar job starting in position 490 and passing 106 vehicles to finish in spot 384!! Unfortunately, due to a fatal buggy accident, which lead to the death of a spectator, the bikes weren't allowed to finish the 2nd day of competition.
Despite a disappointing finish to the iconic desert race the team still enjoyed experiencing all the magic of the Outback in the purpose built Toy Hauler 2.0. Bryan said "the truck has been unreal, some of these dirt service roads are horrendous back breakers! The hauler did incredible!!!

Fuso Toy Hauler 2.0 loaded - Pit stop at Augathella the colourful country town, famous for it bushrangers, bullockies and bullock teams who camped along the Warrego River. The adrenaline pumping team loaded the Toy Hauler up with support crew, bikes and equipment and hit the bumpy road for the 27 hr (2,565.0 km) one way trip to Alice Springs and Tatt's Finke Desert Race 2021. The Toy Hauler easily accommodated the team (comfortably fitting 7 inside) and the toys (ramps and straps essential items in the tray). The team headed out Roma way into central Queensland, getting a bit chilly with the 1 degree morning temperature. The team Travelled through Barcaldine, Winton Boulia, the start of the channel country
The final push to Alice Springs saw the team impressed with the vast stretch of the Aussie outback all around. Stopping at cattle farms to refuel, before hitting the sketchy dirt roads. Good job the Fuso Toy Hauler loves off road adventuring. They made it - team and Toy Hauler arrive at the NT with time to spare before Saturday's big race.
The raceBilled as the most gruelling desert race, Tatt's Finke Desert Race has been around since the 70's. The dirt track course runs from Alice Springs to Finke on the first day and returns to Alice the following. No one has ever completed it on a Harley and the Team at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast are confident that Bryan (and his team of 10) will set this new record!
