The arrival of the gigantic FUSO MAN #2, for their inaugural Turning Japanese event, is just one reason the team at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast are celebrating this week.
2 of the local trucking dealerships salesmen have just been named best in Australia and their Parts and Service departments have been awarded 2017 top dealer in the nation from Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Marketing Manager Jane Chapman says; “2018 is proving to be an award winning, exciting year for both FUSO Sunshine Coast and our Forest Glen trucking dealership. What better way for us to celebrate our successes than by hosting our TURNING JAPANESE party, starring our eye catching, oversized, 5m tall FUSO SUMO man.”
The SUMO sized inflatable is back by popular demand. Jane says; “Our old Fuso guy was inflated in our truck yard, overlooking the Bruce Highway for a couple of years, achieving a somewhat iconic status. He was a massive hit with our staff, customers, friends and families. Due to changes at head office we had to let him go (he literally popped and flew off) but locals always ask about him and when he will return. He got so many mentions we thought why not reinvent him and bring him back in time for our Turning Japanese event.”
The SUPER SIZED SUMO isn’t the only eye popping, Japanese toy, on show next Friday 18 May, as the Daimler Trunks Sunshine Coast car park transforms itself into an interactive SUMO arena. The free, family, friendly event has a Japanese theme featuring a pop-up food court courtesy of local favourites ii-naa, music by hip DJ Ollie, obstacle course by Experientia and a sumo arena with both adult and children’s suits. Jane says; “We’re hoping our customers, employees and families will love putting on the sumo suits and stepping into the arena, it’s all a bit of fun and hopefully will create a laugh or two.”
Jane says, “This inaugural event is the perfect opportunity for the Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast team to celebrate our success at being named best in Australia with our valued customers, families and friends.”
From sushi to sumos, seaweed to sake this event will have something for everyone.
